The Shamanic Journey

For tens of thousands of years, man has connected with his higher spiritual nature through Shamanic Journeying. It is a technique almost as old as man himself. Incredibly, it was practised by indigenous peoples all over the globe, among cultures not linked by language, geography, or time. Yet the techniques they practised were virtually all the same.

During a Shamanic Journey you travel into one of four realms of universal consciousness, often called Non-Ordinary Reality or the Shamanic State of Consciousness (SSC). The four realms are referred to as the Lower World, the Middle World, the Upper World, and the Under World. The latter one is a place best avoided unless you are experienced in Shamanic Journeying.

Journeys to the Lower, Middle, or Upper Worlds bring you into contact with spirit entities like Power Animals, Spirit Guides, Angels, Teachers, or long deceased Ancestors. These Helpers, Guides, and Allies will help you with difficulties in your private life and will provide you with any information, healing, wisdom, and direction you might request to assist you in your earthly mission.

To enable you to enter SSC you will need the help of a drum or a metronome. The drumming is conducted at a rate of 4 to 7 beats per second which will take you from the Beta state of normal waking consciousness into a dreamlike state referred to as Theta. This dreamlike state of relaxation helps shut down the incessant chatter of the mind and allows it to be more receptive to the mystical world of Non-Ordinary Reality. Yet, while in the Theta state you are still aware of what is going on in Ordinary Reality and you can bring your journey to an end any time you wish.

The brain frequencies of the various states of consciousness are:

Beta, 16 to 30 Hz (Concentration and Alertness)
Alpha, 8 to 12 Hz (Relaxation and Light Trance)
Theta, 4 to 8 Hz (Meditation and Shamanic States of Consciousness)
Delta, 1 to 4 Hz (Deep Sleep)

At FOOLS CROW VIBRATIONAL HEALING we provide courses and basic instruction in Shamanic Journeying and once you become adept it is up to you to increase your own knowledge and skill through regular practice.

We also offer sessions in Shamanic Counselling where you will undergo a Shamanic Journey in order to find answers to a particular matter of concern in your life. We spend some time discussing your intention or reason for the journey. Your 'Intent' is very powerful and it is important that it is framed in clear, unambiguous language.

As you journey, you describe your experiences out loud and this is recorded. We play back the recording when you have completed the journey and we discuss events, meanings, symbolism, and any other matters that might have come up. The process takes about 2 hours. It is truly amazing the help and guidance one receives from Spirit during these sessions.
